You can use the - option (by itself).  For example:

% gsi -
 > (expt 2 10)
1024

You can also set the GAMBCOPT environment variable to automatically  
add the - option, so that starting gsi will always add the - option:

% export GAMBCOPT=+-
% gsi
 > (expt 2 10)
1024
